The Short Version

Hi, I'm Karen.

Fourteen years ago I became a mother, and that was the moment wellness stopped being a topic I was interested in and became the lens I looked at my entire home through. Everything I brought through the door mattered differently after that, and not only because I wanted the best for my kids. I wanted a healthy life for myself too, without handing myself whatever was left over.

Twelve-plus years in this space, and I haven't just come across hundreds of products, I've tested hundreds more. I've spent real money on things I ended up throwing out, and on things that sat collecting dust in a drawer because they looked good on paper and did nothing. What all of that taught me is that the hard part isn't finding clean products or effective ones. It's finding both in the same bottle.

That's why I'm here talking about Ringana.

It Started With Becoming a Mom

I didn't come to this through a dramatic health story.

I came to it the way a lot of women do, which is that I became a mom, and suddenly everything in my house had a second set of questions attached to it.

That was fourteen years ago, and it changed my perspective permanently. It wasn't only about wanting the best for my kids, because I think every mom wants that. It was that I started paying attention to what I was building around all of us, the products in the bathroom cabinet, the things I put on my own skin, the standard I was quietly setting for myself.

I wanted a healthy life, and I didn't want to reach it by cutting corners on quality anywhere along the way, including on me.

That was the beginning of a long and genuinely interesting education.

The Journey

What twelve years of this actually taught me.

01

Hard to impress, on purpose

I've spent more than twelve years in this space since then, reading labels, testing formulas, and getting very particular about what earns a spot on my shelf. I haven't just come across hundreds of products, I've tested hundreds more, and I've spent real money on plenty of them only to throw them out or watch them collect dust in a drawer. That's a long time and a lot of trial and error, and it has made me hard to impress.

02

The trade-off I stopped accepting

The thing I kept running into wasn't ingredients, it was the trade-off. You find a product with an ingredient list you'd be proud of, and it doesn't perform. Or you find something that truly works, and then you turn the bottle around and it doesn't come close to the standard you've set. For years I accepted that as the cost of doing this well, choosing which side to compromise on depending on the product and the day.

I stopped accepting it, and that's really what led me here.

03

The question that changed how I shop

Somewhere along the way I started asking about something almost nobody talks about, which is time. How long did that bottle sit in a warehouse, then on a truck, then on a shelf, before it ever got to me? Because plant-based actives don't hold their potency indefinitely, and antioxidants in particular are on a clock from the moment they're made.

Once I understood that, I couldn't unsee it. A product that can sit unopened for three years is telling you something about itself, and what it's telling you is that stability was prioritized over potency. There's a reason we don't shop for produce that way.

Why Ringana

Ringana started in Austria in 1996, when two parents looked at the ingredients in their child's toothpaste and decided they could do better, which is a beginning I understand in my bones.

What they built is a company that makes what they call fresh cosmetics, and they mean it literally. Products are made to order in small batches, formulated without synthetic preservatives, mineral oils, or fillers, and they come with a genuine expiration date because the actives inside are potent enough to require one. That freshness is exactly what lets them use the ingredients that lose their strength sitting on a shelf, and it's the reason this is the first line I've found where I'm not quietly trading one thing for another.

The rest of it holds up too, which matters to me. The formulas are vegan and certified to organic and natural cosmetic standards, the glass bottles come back to be reused, the packaging is biodegradable, and the ingredient transparency is complete rather than selective. This is a company that spent two full years redesigning the packaging on a single product, which tells you most of what you need to know about how they operate.

Their supplement line follows the same thinking, freshly produced and formulated to support your body with concentrated plant-based ingredients instead of being padded out with things that exist to extend a shelf life.

05

What you won't get from me

I'm not going to tell you to throw out everything under your bathroom sink, and I'm not going to make you feel behind for using something I wouldn't. That approach doesn't help anyone, and honestly, it's exhausting to be on the receiving end of it.

What I will do is tell you the truth about what I use, why I chose it, and what I'd start with if I were you. If something isn't right for you, I'll say so. If a product doesn't live up to what it promises, you'll hear that from me first.

06

Where we go from here

Ringana is new to the United States, which means you're getting in at the very beginning of this, and I'm genuinely excited about that. Fourteen years after I started asking harder questions about what comes into my home, this is the line that finally answers most of them.

Come find me, ask me anything, and let's figure out what makes sense for you.
